Almost 8000 positions have been made sure about by IT experts in West Bengal who have gotten back from different places because of the COVID-19 pandemic, an authority of the state Information Technology division said.

The state IT division had built up the ‘Karma Bhumi’ application for experts who had gotten back from different spots to enroll themselves for getting work in the state for a restricted timeframe.

“With the coming of COVID, there has been an immense convergence of IT experts here from outside,” said Sanjay Das, joint secretary, IT Department, legislature of West Bengal.

Talking at an online class by Bengal Chamber of Commerce and Industry on Friday night, Das said the public authority discovered that this to be an occasion to tap the ability pool for which the application had been considered.

Karmo Bhumi is a Government of West Bengal activity to team up between work searchers and businesses in IT/ITeS area.
